Isospin correlations in projectile-like fragments produced in 40,48Ca+40,48Ca reactions at Fermi energies

We have theoretically investigated the isotopic distributions of projectile-like fragments produced in 40,48Ca+40,48Ca peripheral collisions at 35 MeV/nucleon. Experimental data obtained in these reactions by the INDRA Collaboration are compared with our calculations performed in the framework of the statistical multifragmentation model (SMM) with the hyphotesis of the statistical equilibrium of the ensemble of excited projectile sources in the standard freeze-out conditions. The experimental results were successfully reproduced by modifying the symmetry energy parameter values and reconstructing the isotopic compositions of the ensemble of sources. These results, which expand upon our previous analyses of FAZIA experiments performed at 35 MeV/nucleon, and the FRS experiments at relativistic energies up to 1 GeV/nucleon, justify the universality of the statistical multifragmentation of excited projectile residues over a wide beam energy range.
