Problems teachers' face and solution proposals in the schools where the foreign students are educated

The civil war that broke out in Syria, which is our neighbor to the border, forced the civilians to migrate for the sake of safety of life. The number of people who started to enter Turkey in 2011 reached 3 million as of 2017 (Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees [UNCHR], 2017). Besides the Syrians, Iraqis, who migrated with similar reasons, are also being hosted in Turkey. While some of these people are hosted in the camps, the majority of them are located all over Turkey. This wave of immigration has led to various problems throughout the country; one of the most important problems is children's education. In order to solve these children's educational problems, governmental and non-governmental organizations have acted and put forward various solution proposals. In this context, various policies are implemented by the state; educational opportunities are offered to students at temporary training centers and national schools of education. However, teachers working in schools depending on the Ministry of National Education are experiencing various problems. The aim of this research is to reveal problems and solutions proposed by teachers who are teaching in elementary and secondary schools depending on the Ministry of National Education. This research has been designed in qualitative research method. For this purpose, interviews were conducted with 17 teachers who educate in different fields in a primary school and a secondary school. Semi-structured interview was used in the study and interviews were transcribed. The data obtained from the study were analyzed via content analysis technique. The themes that emerged according to the results of the research were academic problems, language and communication problems, social problems and suggestions.
