Environmental Sustainability: Evaluating Green Entrepreneurship from a Sustainability Perspective

Climate change and human-induced environmental degradation are damaging the future of our planet every day. Preventing environmental degradation is now a global issue that needs to be addressed as a social and economic problem. This issue makes it necessary to comply with sustainable development goals and thus brings green entrepreneurship activities that focus on the environment to the forefront. Green entrepreneurship is an environmentally friendly business model and produces innovative ideas that are sensitive to the environment. This type of entrepreneurship, which strengthens the competitive position of the business, contributes to sustainable development by selling green products and services. It is also referred to as environmental entrepreneurship, sustainable entrepreneurship, and eco-entrepreneurship in the literature. Green entrepreneurship is a field with the potential to strike a balance between environmental protection and sustainability. Research in this area shows that green entrepreneurship is an important area for both theoretical and practical applications. However, more research and incentives are needed to realize the full potential of green entrepreneurship. In this study, the concept of green entrepreneurship and green entrepreneurs, the importance of green entrepreneurship for businesses, the place of green entrepreneurship in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and green entrepreneurship from a sustainability perspective will be discussed.
