Reproduction traits of Holstein and Brown Swiss cattle

Özet
Some reporduction traits of a Holstein and Brown Swiss herd, kept in Eregli state farm, were evaluated. For both breeds parameters were first breeding age (FBA), number of insemination per gestation (NIPG), service period (SP), gestation length (GL) and calving interval (CI). In Holstein FBA, SP, GL, CI and NIPG were found as 577.7±20.05, 133.23±17.3, 278.18±1.5, 430.22±18.1 days and 1.74+0.11, respectively. FBA, SP, GL, CI and NIPG of Brown Swiss were found as 611.3±15.07, 113.05, 113.05 ± 13.5, 289.96±1.4, 408.85 ± 12.7 days and 1.51±0.09, respectively.
