Polymorphism of transferrin and hemoglobin in native black cows in Turkey

Özet
The origin of Native Black cows is from Bos taurus brachyceros. The population of Native Black cows in Turkey is about 46%. They can produce about 500-600 kg milk/ lactation. Several biochemical polymorphisms occur in red cells and plasma of cattle. Hemoglobin and transferrin have been the subject of considerable study, and their inheritance has been reported in detail by several workers in this field. The alleles of hemoglobin and transferrin were reported by Ashton and Lampkin (1965), Dogrul (1973) and Shanker and Bhatra (1983) in East African cows, Turkish Native Cattle and Indian Zebu cattle respectively.
