The polymorphisms of hemoglobin and transferrin in Turkish hair goat

Özet
Turkey has a few native breeds of goat which are Turkish hair goat, Angora goat and Killis goat. Turkish hair, goats are predominant in the native goat population in Turkey (Anonymous, 1997). During the last few decades, there has been worldwide interest in research into the occurrence of genetically controlled variants of blood proteins, the most common among them are hemoglobin and transferrin variants. These variants are detected by electrophoresis on the basis of their overall electric charge and mobility. The object of this study was to find the distribution of different hemoglobin and transferrin types in Turkish native hair goat.
