Comparison of vascularity pattern and uterine artery resistance index changes on doppler ultrasonography according to myoma types

Objective: To compare vascularity patterns and changes in uterine artery resistance index (RI) on Doppler ultrasonography according to different myoma types. Methodology: Patients diagnosed with uterine myomas who underwent transvaginal Doppler ultrasonography were included in the study. Uterine artery resistance index (RI) was measured in all patients. Results: When comparing patients presenting with abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) and chronic pelvic pain (CPP), the mean RI values were 0.29±0.13 and 0.25±0.18, respectively, and no statistically significant difference was found between the groups (p=0.42). Similarly, pulsatility index (PI) values were 1.84±0.75 in the AUB group and 1.88±0.77 in the CPP group, with no significant difference observed (p=0.85). Conclusion: Doppler ultrasonography provides information about vascular characteristics in uterine myomas.
