Recreation on Campus: Comprehensive Assessment of System Actors
Recreational Sports Journal · Ocak 2026
Özet
Campus recreation is highly beneficial and important not only for students but also for academic and administrative staff. This study was conducted using a phenomenological design. In determining the sample group, the “homogeneous case sampling” method, one of the purposive sampling types used in qualitative research, was employed. Eleven academics studying leisure research participated in the interviews. The “semistructured individual interview forms” and “demographic information form” developed by the researcher were used in the data collection process. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicated that although most universities have sufficient facilities, these facilities are not used effectively, and the limited number of events are not organized by experts in the field. To create a campus recreation culture, recreation education should be provided to students, academic staff, and administrative staff, and recreation experts who will plan the activities should be employed in campus recreation units.
