Rational construction of dual S-scheme Ag2MoO4/FeS2/Ag3PO4 heterostructure for photo-fenton-assisted degradation of malachite green dye

Özet
The work reports rational construction of Ag2MoO4/FeS2/Ag3PO4 heterojunction, for substantial optimisation of photo-Fenton-assisted photocatalytic activity. Ag2MoO4/FeS2/Ag3PO4 heterostructure system was strategically synthesized through the co-precipitation method for the efficient mitigation of Malachite green (MG). The nanocomposite confirms a dual S-scheme charge transfer route, exhibiting enhanced optoelectronic and electrochemical properties. Driven by strengthened optical absorption and interfacial charge migration, the photo-Fenton-assisted degradation of MG reached to 99.3% within 60 min of light irradiation. The corresponding rate constant (0.041 min−1) further emphasises the improved photoactivity of the synthesised photocatalyst relative to the components. Additionally, the recyclability assessment validates the stability and sustained photocatalytic performance of the photocatalyst. Also, the underlying photodegradation pathway was elucidated through liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS). Thus, the present work advances the robust stability and viability of the Fe-based photocatalytic system at near-neutral pH.
