Rehabilitation of Endodontically Treated Molar and Premolar Teeth with Endocrown Restorations: 3 Cases

Selcuk Dental Journal · Aralık 2022

Özet
Restoration of endodontically treated teeth with excess material loss poses a major clinical challenge due to loss of retention. The most commonly used restoration type for these teeth are intracanal posts and crown veneers. However, intra-canal posts weaken the tooth structure and increase the risk of root fracture. With the advancement in adhesive techniques, the use of single-piece endocrone restorations, which combine core structure and crown restoration, is becoming more common due to their minimal invasiveness. Endocrones are monoblock restorations that provide retention by taking support from the pulp chamber and root canals, and obtain sufficient stability with adhesive systems. In this case report, the rehabilitation of root canal treated teeth with molar endocrone restorations produced using indirect composite resin is discussed in three different cases. The purpose of this case report is to explain the stages of endocrone restorations and to present the clinical follow-up results.
