The digital humanities have emerged as an interdisciplinary approach that transforms research processes across virtually every field of the humanities. This article brings together the methodological possibilities the digital humanities offer to Islamic history research with existing projects and future-oriented recommendations. The study examines in turn digital text corpora and text mining, biographical databases and social network analysis, geographic information systems and spatial analysis, automatic text recognition technologies in manuscript studies, and artificial intelligence and large language models. The article also evaluates the current state of digital humanities studies in Turkey within the context of Islamic history research and presents concrete tasks and recommendations. Ultimately, the study opens discussion around how digital methods can expand the scope of Islamic history research, what kinds of new questions they enable, and how they can support traditional historiography.
